High School Preparation

St. Francis of Assisi has a proud tradition of preparing students for the high school of their choice. Our graduates attend Catholic, independent, and highly selective public schools. Many receive merit scholarships. Once in high school, they show leadership,
excel athletically, and serve their communities. Our alumni go on to college and to graduate programs in medicine, law, education, and more.

Accomplishments of Our Graduates

Jamie Watson, Class of 2009

Picture
Jamie Watson, a Notre Dame Preparatory School senior, received first place honors in the 39th Annual Harvard National Forensics Tournament for Original Oratory.  Watson was one of six top winners from more than 4,200 national participants at the two-day tournament held February 16-18 in Cambridge, MA.

Besting 361 other competitors in her category, Watson earned first place for her original oratory “Laughter—FDA Approved,” which she researched, wrote and delivered.   She explains that her ten-minute speech was “about the importance of comedy in our daily lives and how much laughter can truly benefit us. I use various studies and statistics to get the message across, as well as some real stories about how comedy has changed lives. And of course, it incorporates many jokes!”

Also, congratulations to Jamie for winning outstanding actress in her pod at the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta. She performed with the Children’s Playhouse of Maryland as Ursula in “The Little Mermaid" AND for winning the award for Best Comic Actress in a Musical at the Cappies for her role as Little Red Riding Hood in Notre Dame Prep's production of "Into The Woods."
