MISSION STATEMENT
We, the faculty of St. Francis of Assisi, believe that St. Francis is "not just a school--but a way of life." To this end, we work to create a Catholic Christian school, in order to convey the Gospel spirit of freedom, love and responsibility nurtured through prayer and worship. In our daily encounters with out students, we seek to embody the message of Jesus. We aspire to offer our students the guidance necessary to become active participants in that message while affirming their knowledge and understanding of it in their treatment of one another. We encourage our school community to reach out to the broader community in acts of service.
Academically, we strive to instill in our students an enthusiasm for learning and a thirst for knowledge. Believing that self-discipline is necessary to engage in higher order thinking skills, we provide a structured environment that challenges students through independent activities as well as co-operative learning experiences. Adapting our teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles as well as abilities of our students, we adhere to the Archdiocesan curriculum requirements as guides to teaching basic skills.
Socially, we expect our children to act responsibly in varied situations. Building on relationships established at home, the school community provides many opportunities for students to interact with peers, faculty, staff members, volunteers, and visitors. The children learn to value their uniqueness when their ideas and talents are encouraged, channeled, and affirmed.
By instilling Christian values, and developing academic skills within each child, we envision our students growing into productive citizens able to live fulfilling lives, willing to serve others, and eager to worship God.
